 The southern region qualifiers for Iraqi universities were launched, which is held by the Student Activities Department / Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, hosted by the University of Basra, the Southern Technical University and Shatt Al-Arab College.
 Dr. said.  Ghassan Habib, Director of Student Activities Department at Basra University, the qualifiers were held with the participation of 5 public universities and a private university from the southern Iraqi governorates.
 The opening was attended by the Assistant President of Basra University, Dr.  Ali Al-Heddi and the heads of the participating delegations, in which the participating teams reviewed..
 The opening match was visual, which ended with the victory of the Basra University team over the Shatt Al-Arab University College team 59-10. The second match was between Dhi Qar College and Al Ain College, which ended with the victory of Al Ain College.
