Out of 70 public and private universities, with the participation of more than 1,500 athletes from universities in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iran, the University of Basra won third place for the female student team and fifth place for the male individual team. The co-head of the delegation, Dr. Riyad Al-Saeed, said that the University of Basra team consists of 4 male and female students. Female students participated in this international forum, which was hosted by our beloved capital, and he praised the great fatherly role of the University President, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen, in supporting students 

The Student Activities Department also praised the effective and essential role in maturing the students’ sports experiences of Dr. Qusay Muhammad Ali Rakhiz, the male student coach, and Dr. Sanaa Jawad Kazem, the female student coach. It is worth noting that the competition was very intense among the students, as the student Hassan Saad, one of the Asian long-distance champions, got fifth place.
